E-bike Research Summer 2020

You are being invited to participate in a research study titled “A survey of e-bike use in the Lake District during Covid 19”.  This study is being led by Dr Ian Philips from the University of Leeds. The purpose of this research study is to find out how both residents and visitors use e-bikes in the Lake District during Covid 19 and the recovery, and will take you approximately 15 minutes to complete.

As a thank you for your time, you have the opportunity to enter a prize draw to win £100 of Booths vouchers.
(Please note that this survey is only relevant for people who have used an e-bike in the Lake District during 2020).

Your participation in this study is entirely voluntary.  You do not have to answer any questions you do not want to.
You are free to withdraw at any time during your participation in this study. If you want to withdraw from this survey after you have submitted your responses, please contact helentate@redresearch.co.uk, and we will extract your responses and destroy them. As it is often impossible to take out data from one specific participant once data are anonymised and pooled with other people’s data, you can
only withdraw up to 1 week after answering the survey.

We believe there are no known risks associated with this research study; however, as with any online related activity the risk of a breach is always possible. To the best of our ability your participation in this study will remain confidential, and only anonymised data will be published. We will minimise any risks as follows. The market research company Red Research is the initial recipient of the data and stored to comply with the Data Protection Act 2018. Your contact details will not be provided to the researchers at the University of Leeds. Raw data will be destroyed after 2 years. Further information is available via the University of Leeds Privacy notice by clicking here:

If you would like more information about the research, you can contact Dr Ian Philips i.philips@leeds.ac.uk. If you have any complaints or concerns about your participation in the study or how your data is handled, you can contact Clare Skinner C.E.Skinner@leeds.ac.uk
